Okay, so I realize that I never keep up with this thing and you are all just dying to know what I did this summer huh?! Well, let me give you the scoop! My summer started with an amazing trip to Alaska right at the end of May.
I didn't wait one minute after school got out to just take off and travel! I met my friend Ruth who lives in Delta Junction. While there, I stayed in this funny thatched cabin on Quartz Lake,
met Santa at the North Pole,
and rode the Denali train from Fairbanks to Anchorage.
I also got luck and made it into first class with my flight perks!
After Alaska Jeff and I headed to Virginia to help remodel a friends bathroom. Lucky that Jeff gets to work on Vacation! I am so mean! Anyway, we managed the project in 3 days and then spent a day in Williamsburg looking at the sights.
Jeff had to leave for work so I stayed and got to attend singles ward (lucky) and the "Dating 101" week. Yikes...I now remember why I disliked single life...stressful! I also went to the Jefferson Hotel where they have the staircase that Gone With The Wind was modeled after...
People used to come from all over to get married in "Gone with the Wind" fashion. The Confederate White House was also on the list of stops. I didn't realize that the Confederates had their own white house during the Civil War so it was an amazing history lesson.
An amazing plantation home that Jeff will build me someday....
Then we went to the town named after me cuz I am amazing!
After my return from VA I hopped right back on a plane, well, after a night of sleeping in the airport, and headed to NYC. Bri and I saw and did EVERYTHING! Including 4 Broadway plays...Wicked, Phantom, Hairspray, and Mary Poppins! They were all pretty incredible! It was uber muggy there and I hate sweating! It downpoured several times and we had to get an umbrella...figures... I hung with the Spice Girls,
Miss Liberty,
Rode a double decker tour bus...
and I forgot to mention that it was Gay Pride Day so you can imagine...
Since I've been home, we have remodeled the kitchen and that has about taken up my entire summer!
I have also been playing with the band "Two Much Fun" and they are amazing! I have the greatest time! We rock the night away 1 or 2 times a week and it is incredible!
Well, there you go, the compact version...hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
